for everyone
When we were just starting out as a married couple, my husband and I purchased some hanging and potted plants in Tagaytay to add something green to our house. Unfortunately, neither of us was able to keep the plants alive. Since then, we never tried putting plants inside our home again.

That was until we discovered Atomic Bonsai. Created by Joji Akazaki, a Japanese artist based in Los Angeles, Atomic Bonsai is a bonsai puzzle made out of 100% recycled paper.

The philosophy behind it is really like taking care of a bonsai plant. You decide on how small or how tall you want it to be; you may prune the branches and clip off some leaves as you please just by taking out some pieces from the puzzle.

We ordered 2 bonsais directly from the artist and had it shipped here. Our order arrived sometime August, but I only got to put together my bonsai after the bar exams. The bonsais are now nestled in separate nooks in our dining area.

starting the puzzle

with some help from Diego

assembling the trunk and branches

putting on some leaves

checking the base

putting the bonsai in the pot

voila!

These are great pero iba pa rin real plants. You should not give up just because it didn't work out the first time around. Research lang on the best plants to use. Sometimes kasi, the plants you buy in Tagaytay aren't the best to use on warmer Manila weather. I suggest you get Golden Pothos, English Ivy and Peace Lilies. They are indoor easy-to-grow toxin fighter plants.

You're right. Nothing beats having real plants inside the home. Mas malamig pati, sa mata at sa pakiramdam. The trouble that we had before was because my husband and I were always out of the house kaya walang nagdidilig. Plus the fact that we got the wrong plants. But thanks for the encouragement and the suggestions Rayne. Will try that.
